  6.            TinyHost is a small, personal-sized host program for IBM PC's 
  7.        and compatibles. It is designed to permit logging onto one's 
  8.        computer from a remote site, without having to install a full-
  9.        fledged Bulletin Board program. To this end, many BBS features 
  10.        are not implemented - TinyHost is not intended to compete with 
  11.        such programs.

  13.            Some of the features of TinyHost V3.00 are:
  14.  
  15.            *  Operation can be via COM1, COM2, COM3, or COM4 using a
  16.               Hayes compatible modem, and at rates of 300 to 38.4K bps. 
  17.        
  18.            *  Supports XModem, XModem/CRC, and 1K-XModem (sometimes
  19.               called YModem) as internal file transfer protocols. 
  20.        
  21.            *  Up to 6 external file transfer protocols can be
  22.               implemented.
  23.  
  24.            *  Supports up to 25 users with 11 security levels.

  26.            *  Supports Ringback mode, which permits easy use of a voice 
  27.               phone line for data communications.

  29.            *  A text file that resides on the host system can be viewed 
  30.               without downloading.

  32.            *  Supports Personal and Public mail, and SysOp Comments.

  34.            *  The actions of a remote user are echoed to the local
  35.               screen.

  37.            *  Unauthorized users are not able to logon to TinyHost.

  39.            *  Using the security level feature, access can be restricted
  40.               to one directory or the entire system can be available.

  42.            *  An Operator Chat function exists to permit the local
  43.               operator to chat on-line with the remote user.

  45.            *  Shelling-to-DOS while connected remotely can be permitted.
  46.  
  47.            *  Support has been added for ISDN phone systems.

  49.            *  Uploads can be restricted to a minimum security level.

  51.            *  User activity can be logged to a file.

  53.            *  TinyHost performs a self-check on execution to ensure
  54.               that it has not been tampered with by, for instance, a
  55.               virus.

  57.            *  TinyHost is just that - tiny! The executable file is less
  58.               than 90K, and the program only requires approximately
  59.               140K of system RAM to run in.

  64.            TinyHost has been released in ZIP form, utilizing the 
  65.        Authenticity Verification option. When un-Zipping the file 
  66.        THOST300.ZIP, the following line should appear after the un-
  67.        Zipping process is complete:

  76.            As released, TinyHost consists of the following files:

  78.                 THOST300.EXE - TinyHost's executable. The 300
  79.                                refer to the version number of
  80.                                the program (V3.00)
  81.                 TINYHOST.DOC - The TinyHost manual in printer
  82.                                ready form (PRINT TINYHOST.DOC)
  83.                 TINYHOST.WEL - A sample welcome file
  84.                 TINYHOST.CFG - A sample configuration file
  85.                 THREMOTE.BAT - Sample batch file for Shell-to-DOS
  86.                 ZMXMIT.BAT   - Batch file for DSZ ZModem downloads
  87.                 ZMRCV.BAT    - Batch file for DSZ ZModem uploads
  88.                 REGISTER.FRM - Ready-to-print registration

  90.                 HISTORY.TXT  - A file describing the release

  100.            Reading (or at least browsing) the manual is strongly 
  101.        suggested. However, a Quick Start section is available in the 
  102.        manual to help get TinyHost up and running in a minimal amount of 
  103.        time.
